The Bank of Zambia has issued a revised licensing framework for foreign exchange bureaux, effective March 2026.
Key Changes:
• Minimum capital requirement increased to ZMW 500,000 • Mandatory AML/CFT compliance certification • Quarterly reporting requirements • Geographic zoning restrictions removed • License validity extended to 5 years
Existing operators must apply for re-licensing within 6 months of the effective date.
